Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

I'm flipping through youtube Chelley videos, trying to find good inspirational music, and I see this:
"why does everyone think chell has a thing for wheatley i bieleve ratman would be chell's boyfriend than wheatley"
And a few I won't quote, because, frankly, I don't approve of their language.

Alright, now I know "haters gonna hate," and "don't feed the troll," but...why are you even watching a Chelley video if you don't support (or hate) the pairing? Something's screwed up in there.
One person ranted for quite a while on all the reasons Chelley would never work.
Well, I could give an incredibly long list of reasons why I think any pairing would "never work" but that doesn't mean it's invariably true. Those are just my reasons for not supporting it. My opinion. For example, I don't support ChellDOS, because it has to be abusive, or GLaDOS is out of character, and I don't think Chell would put up with it. She's not known for putting up with sh*t.
But I'm not going to ChellDOS videos, or stories, and ranting about how much they suck.

I've seen this same thing in so many fandoms, and sometimes it's funny (as in: "You read until chapter 20, despite the warnings, and the reminders, and the repeated overshadowing, and you're going into a rage now?") but...WTF people?

(Also, going back to my quote; Fangirl? You spelled Rattman's name wrong. If he's part of your OTP, you really should show the respect to know his actual name.)

And in case anyone's going to see this and go "OMGZ, shes hatin on my OTPZ!" I will support almost anything if you can give me a good explaination for how it could happen in-canon, not out of character, and be a healthy realtionship (because, as a rule, I don't support abusive couples.)

And yes, middle of the night Sophie has no patience, whatsoever.

I think it's what we make out of the game that makes us fans, I dont really mind the Chelldos, wheatdos, chellmen etc. pairings, I'm just a big fan of the game.

Some people just LOOOOOOVE to bitch, I have a theory that those kinds of people are happiest when they are bitching!

Yeah, that's one of the reason's I don't support them, too. He never shows up in Portal 1, and the comic basically tells us he's dead by the beginning of Portal 2. She's a dying-Aperture era test subject, he's a scientist. As far as I'm conscerned, even if they did meet, that sort of relationship just does not happen.

Besides which, she's got Wheatley and he's got his Companion Cube.
